Hello yellow!

yellow maxi dress

Hello my fashionsistas!

Let me start by saying that I never used to wear yellow at all.

Okay, maybe I wore a yellow dress once…in Mykonos…in 2004 (Gasp! So long ago)!

I really used to feel that yellow was only appropriate during summer on the Greek Islands when I was rockin’ an enviable tan along with the perfect beach hair, and come normal everyday life I thought yellow just didn’t compliment me at all.

Yet for some odd reason, I am all of a sudden drawn to yellow clothing when shopping. I think perhaps I just wasn’t comfortable wearing yellow as it’s so bright, or maybe I used to try on the wrong yellow tones and just put it down to ‘yellow doesn’t suit me’.

It happened a few months ago, I was in Zara and reached for a beautiful thick yellow knit, it was the same day I bought these overalls so clearly I must have been in an adventurous mood. I fell in love with the knit as soon as I tried it on and since then I’m starting to give yellow more of a chance when shopping.

So here I am today wearing a gorgeous gray and yellow maxi dress. I love the cut out all around my waist and back - I think it makes it the perfect summer maxi dress.

And remember, you don’t need to be a model to look like you’ve stepped off the runway – you just need a killer wardrobe and some lipstick!

Big love,
xox Marina
