UPDATE.

Welcome to the “New” Not a Model!

We’ve had a little facelift, got a new logo and we are feeling fresh AF! 💁🏼

It’s been a little bit since I last posted and I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes on making some changes to Not a Model.

When I started Not a Model 3 years ago, I wanted to help women get out the door looking and feeling amazing, so I focused on fashion and makeup.

Earlier this year, I was working on my goals, doing a lil’ soul searching and thinking about where I want to take Not a Model and I realized that being a fashion and beauty blogger is not enough for me.

I have this burning energy and fire within me to share MORE with you than just chic outfits and flawless makeup looks.

I want to help you WIN AT LIFE. ✨

I also had this realization that the fashion blogging world is very “constructed” and very fake.

There is a fuq ton of pressure to be “perfect” on social media.

Social media sites like Instagram are overflowing with super highly edited photos where bloggers, celebrities and even supermodels are altering their bodies and faces.

It’s just too easy to make yourself look skinnier, make your butt look perkier, make your lips, tits or eyes bigger or add a thigh gap with an app on your iPhone. 📲

I will say, I used to edit my photos. I used to smooth out my skin but I don’t do it any more because my skin is actually fab most days, I actually love my skin but I was smoothing it out to keep up with appearing perfect, when really I didn’t need to.

Another shocking thing 😵 that I’ve noticed on social media is that even beauty vloggers are using living filters to make their skin look flawless and perfect in their videos on YouTube… I won’t name names but a lot of major vloggers are using them now. If you pay close attention you can sometimes see the filter “break” for a few seconds.

☝🏼 And all this really does not sit well with me.

I want to share a real me with you, not a filtered version.

And at the beginning of this year, I realized that I’m a part of that world, but I don’t want to appear perfect. I love the way I look and I’m content and happy with myself and who I am…

…And I want to instill that in you.

There is not enough realness on social media and I want to use my power as a blogger and influencer to challenge the status quo and help you love the unfiltered unedited version of yourself… to #BackYourself.

So what can you expect to start seeing here a Not a Model? 👀

Well you’ll still be seeing chic outfits and makeup tutorials.

In addition I’m also going to focus on what I like to call “Backing Yourself”, and what that means is getting behind yourself, believing in yourself, having genuine confidence and I’m also going to focus a lot on body confidence and self love. PLUS other cool stuff about my lifestyle… (Weird shit - like why I put butter in my coffee! 🤷🏼‍♀️)

And it’s going to be real, raw and honest… unfiltered and no B.S! 💩

You’re not going to see a lot of photos. I’m going to focus more on creating videos for you. (Fun fact about me: I prefer being in front of a video camera more than having my photo taken. That’s something I learned about myself when I started blogging.)

So yah! I hope you’re ready for what’s in store. I certainly am.

I’ve been working on this revamp for months and alongside it, I’m actually launching something HUGE in a couple of days to coincide with the new direction we are going in.

Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of the new direction of Not a Model and if you want to request that I create a video about something specific – like why the fuq I put butter in my coffee – please share it in the comments too.

BIG Love,
