I’m sharing a beauty tip from the kitchen today. Most people I share this with say ‘WTF?’… I don’t know what all the ‘horror’ is about – lol!
I discovered using olive oil for my skin and hair when I was living in a Greek village a few years ago. I had run out of my oh-so-precious Sebastian Hydre Deep Conditioning Treatment and my hair was super dry from being at the beach all day… The closest town was over 1 hour away so my Aunt - or should I say, Thea ;) – told me to use olive oil…
I have never looked back!
Olive oil has been used for centuries for beauty, it’s a natural hypoallergenic way to moisturize skin and treat hair. Olive oil contains a superpower of antioxidants, like Vitamins A and E that help repair and renew skin as well as hair that’s been damaged from overexposure to sun and harmful toxins in the air.
Watch below to see 4 ways I use olive oil for skin and hair care.
I hope you loved this video and found it helpful my loves.
And remember, you don’t need to be a model to look like you’ve stepped off the runway – you just need a killer wardrobe and some lipstick!
Can’t watch this video right now? Here are my how-to’s from the video
Olive oil for hair as a deep-conditioning treatment
Dehydrated hair is very common and olive oil is an excellent dry hair fighter. Simply apply some olive oil to your hair about 1 hour before you shower.
Some people have told me that they find olive oil doesn’t penetrate their hair so they prefer to use Coconut oil instead; I’ve actually filmed a video about it as I also use it to make a coconut oil and egg hair mask.

Shaving lubricant for sensitive skin
If you have sensitive skin you probably find it irritating to shave. Olive oil makes the perfect shaving lubricant. I discovered this by accident when I was living in Greece.
In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of olive oil in warm water and soak your fingertips for about five minutes. Soften cuticles so much better than just warm water and nourishes the nails too :)
Olive oil bath
Sophia Loren once revealed that her secret to soft and silky skin was olive oil baths. It’s as simple as adding ½ a cup of olive oil to your bath. My skin always feels amazing after I do this, especially after a day at the beach.
