How to do a natural makeup look for a first date
I received a lot of requests for first date makeup so have done a video tutorial for a day time first date natural makeup look. Let me know if you want to see an evening look below in the comments box.
I’ve quizzed all my guy friends and my boyfriend about the kind of makeup they like on us gals! And they all said they like girls with no makeup - which wasn’t very helpful! So I’ve concluded that guys like a natural makeup look that doesn’t really scream “I’m wearing makeup”. So a soft and natural look is the safest way to go for a first date.
Watch below to learn how to create the perfect natural and soft look for a first date.
You can find all the products I used today in my Beauty Box.
If you liked this natural makeup look for a first date please give it a ‘thumbs up’ - it would mean the world to me.
And remember, you don't need to be a Model to look like you've stepped off the Runway.

Prime, Foundation and Conceal
First, I prime, and today I’m using Benefit Porefessional, this is going to minimise the appearance of pores and fines lines as well as keep me looking shine-free.
For foundation, make sure you’re using the right foundation for your skin type and that it’s the right colour, especially for day time! I use MAC Studio Fix foundation all the time because I am always shooting outfit posts and need something that is super long lasting and photographs amazingly, but it’s a really full coverage heavy makeup so today I’m going to use a medium coverage foundation which is the Lift Lumiere by Chanel (I'm number 30/Cendre).
I’m going to apply this with a MAC 190 brush, this is going to give me a really natural and even finish. I just pop a little foundation on the the back of my hand, I like to start applying the foundation from my nose and work outwards.
After my foundation is blended in nicely, I use Diorskin Nude Concealer in 002/Beige with a MAC 286 Brush under my eyes (easiest way is draw a triangle under your eyes and blend it in) and also any areas where I might have a bit of breakouts or redness.
By now your skin should look nice and smooth without looking like you’ve got too much makeup on.
Focus on Achieving a Natural-Looking Eye, Brow and Lash
Next, I’m going to fill in my eyebrows. This can be tricky for a lot of people, I personally prefer to use an eyeshadow as opposed to a pencil as I find eyeshadow looks much more natural. I use MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Espresso and apply that with an Urban Decay Angled Brush.
Now its time for eye shadow. First I to prime my eyes using Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in original. And for eyeshadow I’m using some really natural colours that also have a little shimmer so that my eyes look soft and pretty!
I’m going to use Virgin from my Naked Palette and apply it with a MAC 227 Brush all over my eyelids.
Then I’m going to take Sin from the same Palette using a Mac 217 Brush and just and apply it through the socket for a little bit of definition.
I’m also going to put a little bit of Sin underneath the eye using a MAC 228 Brush.
I will also take Factory from Naked 3 palette which is a little darker using the MAC 228 Brush and just apply it to the edge of my upper eyelid for a little bit more definition.
Next, I’m going to do my lashes. My lashes are slightly curly but I do have a few on the end that are straight so I use an eyelash curler to get these to curl up.
Then I’m going to use my all-time favourite Mascara; Dior Show. You don’t want to put too much Mascara on, you want to just enhance what you already have, not have thick black Mascara that’s overpowering your eyes and looking clumpy.
Then Get Your Cheeks On and Set It All In
Next, I’m not going to use powder Blush, instead as I want a really soft look, I’m going to use Benetint Cheek Satin on the apples of my cheeks.
Now it’s time to set the foundation in with Diorskin Loose Powder in 002/Transparent Medium. It’s a super light weight powder! I’m going to apply this using a MAC 150 Brush and just dab a little on my forehead, nose and chin and underneath my cheeks.
Lastly (and my favourite part!) – Lipstick
I’m going to use MAC lipstick in Angel - I really love this colour I have it in the lip glass too. I think it’s the perfect colour pink for day time.
