Innerwear as outerwear: Fashion Week Australia day three
Hello my lovely fashionsistas!
I had to save the best for last! This outfit definitely has to be my most amazing post since that time I went to the ballet.
If you have been part of the NAM family for a while then you will know how much I love pushing the boundaries and wearing innerwear as outerwear, so during Fashion Week last month, I just could not resist wearing this Marlies Dekkers couture bodysuit.
When styling this incredible piece I knew I needed flowing gypsy style pants to compliment the glamour of the body suit and I really don’t think I could have found a more perfect pair of pants – the color just perfectly ties in with the jewels. Speaking of colors, don’t you think my shoes matched perfectly to the whole look? I squealed when I found them!
The hardest thing was styling a top; I think with any exposed lingerie look, it can sometimes be a struggle to pair it with the perfect top. I had tried two different tops; one being a champagne colored cashmere with silk cardigan, and the other being a transparent white top that matched the pants really well, they both looked great but I chose to wear the scarf as the tassels gave this look more character - not that it needed it!
I know this body suit is really daring to wear out during the day but I think Fashion Week was the perfect excuse. It is also available in a bra style which is more wearable and easier to style - hopefully I will get my hands on it soon to style for you.
I really love this outfit, and I hope you do too :)
And remember, you don’t need to be a model to look like you’ve stepped off the runway – you just need a killer wardrobe and some lipstick!
