Formal jumpsuits for weddings - a debate!

Hello my fashionsistas,

Just a quick outfit post I wanted to share with you today of a houndstooth jumpsuit I wore to a wedding recently.

I felt this was a really appropriate outfit; I had several lovely comments on how it looked very formal and perfect for a wedding but I was having a bit of a debate with one of my friends, who disagreed that jumpsuits are a suitable outfit choice for a wedding – I think she must have a dislike for jumpsuits in general, and a little too much like much for Champagne.

Sometimes I just don’t feel like wearing a dress to a wedding, even though it’s expected and I think formal jumpsuits, when worn right can be the perfect outfit for any special occasion. Even the simplest black silk jumpsuit can look very chic with some accessorising.

When it comes to tulle, you either love it or you don’t. I’ve loved tulle since watching Sex & The City as a teenager - (the intro) with Carrie in that perfectly cut tulle skirt (gasp!). For all the tulle haters reading this I agree that tulle can quite easily be disastrous but it CAN work as I am showing you in this post :) it just needs to be the right density, then cut and sewn in a way that’s flattering and not over powering to the wearer.

I don’t know what I love more about this jumpsuit; the tulle or the hounds tooth, together they make a strikingly beautiful piece of clothing.

Leave a comment below sharing what you think about formal jumpsuits – would you wear a jumpsuit to a wedding?

And remember, you don't need to be a model to look like you've stepped off the runway!

Big love,
Xox Marina
