Cheap makeup brands: drugstore beauty haul

Cheap makeup brands - drugstore beauty haul

Hi fashionsistas!

Recently I’ve received a few emails asking to see me use some cheap makeup brands in my beauty tutorials as a lot of the products that I have been using in my videos are quite high end brands, like Chanel, Dior and MAC.

And there is a reason as to why I use more high end products than cheap makeup brands; in Australia brands like MAC are really expensive. To give you an idea, a MAC Lipglass here is $35 and in the US its $15 - that’s more than double the price so I like to stock up on all my products when I visit the US.

I went to Priceline which is like Super Drug in the UK and CVS in the US, and I pretty much went on a little makeup shopping spree, I think I spent an hour in the first store!

Some stores here have more products or different brands and after I purchased a big bag of makeup I went to another store to get one thing - the new Maybelline Matte Lipstick in deep red because it was sold out at the first store I went to, but it was also sold out at the second store too and I ended up getting a few more things because I just couldn’t help myself.

Watch below to see what I bought

Have you tried any of these cheap makeup brands? Let me know what you think of them by leaving a comment below.

You can find all the products I bought in my Beauty Box.

And remember, you don't need to be a model to look like you've stepped off the runway.

Ps - if you can’t watch this video right now here is a list of everything I bought

I got a few L’Oreal products

The first counter I went to was L'Oreal as I want to try their Nude range, I got the Nude Magique Foundation and compact powder, and I got two of their BB creams; their normal one and their anti-fatigue one because I really want to see if there is any difference - I stood in front of their BB range for 10 minutes trying to decide which one to get and I just couldn't choose!

Mascara was another double purchase

Ive wanted to try a Maybelline Mascara because they have so many that a lot of people rave about, I have used their Colossal one before so I thought I would get the “Volume Express One by One” because I like that super long lash look.

When I got to the Max Factor counter and saw the Excess Volume Extreme Mascara - I just had to have it. It works in two steps, you put on the Extreme Volume side first then the Intensely Black side, which is really smooth and glossy finish. It’s going to look amazing with a black smokey eye.

And so was lipstick…it was a double-double buy

A girl can never have too many lipsticks! I got a Maybelliene Lipstick in pink pop (it's very Nicki Minaj), I just wanted to try a something really stand out and I also got a Lipstick from Loreal in Orange Power because I love orange and wanted to try a really bright one.

Drug store bag number two

I've really wanted to try Bourjois blush but the first drug store I went in didn't stock it. I got Rose D’or/Golden Rose (number 34). Rose blushes are my absolute favourite. Its got a nice amount of pigment to it but the only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the smell; there is ALOT of fragrance to it *cough*.

Rimmel goodies

I also had to go to the second drug store because I wanted the new Maybelline Matte Lipstick in deep red but it was also sold out there too so I hit the Rimmel counter I got the Kate Moss for Rimmel Matte Lipstick in Kiss of Life which is not the deepest red but it is still dark, and a nude Lipstick (number 26) from the Lasting Finish by Kate range too.

I also got the Wake me up concealer, it's anti-fatigue affect and radiant glow - who doesn’t love to look fresh and awake.

And I got a soft kohl pencil in white because I don’t use a white pencil but I want to start playing with it. I think it looks really good on the inner lash line!

Winged eye necessities

I got the Revlon Gel Liner because when I do a winged eye I use the Urban Decay Felt Tip Pen but I wanted to try a gel liner to see the difference between applying the liner with the pen compared to a brush. I also got the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, as I heard that its really gentle on the skin, I didn't get it to use for makeup removal (I use Dermalogica PreCleaner to remove my makeup) but I want to use this to clean up any mistakes I make when doing my makeup and tidy up my winged eyeliner so its really sharp.

So that is all the Cheap Cosmetics that I bought, I really can’t wait to start using them in tutorials, if you have any questions about these products or want me to do a video on something specific, let me know by leaving a comment below, I respond to all comments!
