I Climbed a Mountain In a Camilla Kaftan (and It Was So Worth It)
One of my favorite Instagram memes is this one right here:
And it rings so true for this post, which we shot atop a small mountain during our final days in Greece whilst visiting family in the village.
…and the reason is, because my cousins – who have spent their lives in said village – told me; don’t go up there… there are snakes… there is no path… it’s rocky... it's dangerous… you don’t know the way... and it’s too hot!
For 10 years I’ve wanted to get up to this little castle (well, what’s left of it) and nobody ain’t nobaaaady was gon’ stop me!
So I said I wouldn’t, but if you know me… well then… the meme above makes sense.
45 minutes in and we still hadn’t reached the top.
Well, for starters we went “the long way” (we discovered this on the way back down which took us no more than 10 minutes.) And, this "little" mountain is also A LOT higher than it looks, a heck of a lot steeper, so-fucking-rocky and pretty dangerous when you’re literally walking on the edge of a cliff… in a Camilla Kaftan.
We made it to the top eventually but unfortunately without much time left to shoot, magic hour was almost over but – like always - we managed to make it work.
This was probably the hardest blog post I've ever created so I really hope you enjoy it, there are literally blood, sweat and tears in it - but it was so worth it.
And remember, you don’t need to be a model to look like you’ve stepped off the runway – you just need a killer wardrobe and some lipstick!
